There are only 2 major roadways that run through Franklin. Interstate 495 and Rt. 140.
When traveling to Franklin via Rt. I-495, from a point North of Franklin: (Example, Worcester, New Hampshire, Maine, etc.) Follow Rt. I-495 South to Exit #17 (Rt. 140) Franklin. At the top of the ramp, turn left on Rt. 140. Follow Rt. 140 in a southeasternly direction for about 2 miles. You wil pass the Franklin Fire Station on the right. At the first traffic light, turn left onto Union Street. Proceed along Union St. to the STOP sign at Arlington St. Continue on Union St. to the next large intersection, before the railroad tracks.
